Student Worker – Donor Relations


Position Summary


Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations & Special Events, the student worker  in this position will provide administrative support for donor recognition and stewardship activities to help assure that donors are stewarded in a thoughtful, timely, and ethical manner. This is an opportunity for students to learn new skills, gain experience and enhance the OSU Student experience.


 Major Duties

  • Prepare and edit for context acknowledgement and gift society welcome letters.
  • Using mail merge function prepare and organize large mailings
  • Research donor gift information to ensure complete and accurate acknowledgement details.
  • Track gift agreement signature process.
  • Process and distribute student correspondence to scholarship donors.
  • Update donor database for all correspondence to donors.
  • Provide support for the Donor Relations group.
  • Assist with donor events as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency working with relational databases and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) for the generation of correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets, and forms.
  • Ability to research information through multiple electronic and paper files.
  • Solid written, organizational, oral and interpersonal skills and eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and high integrity to work appropriately with confidential information.
  • Knowledge of fundraising processes preferred.
  • Ability to work as a team member, effectively interact with co-workers, vendors, volunteers and donors using a collaborative work style.
  • Ability to effectively communicate by phone.
  • Excellent customer support skills.



    Hours / Pay & Minimum Requirements

  • This position is open to Oregon State University students only
  • Up to 20 hours per week; must be available to work summer months (June-July-August)
  • $10 - $12 / hour
  • Must possess a valid Oregon Driver’s License.
