Student Success Center
More than 175 campus and community friends were on hand to celebrate the grand opening of the OSU Student Success Center on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
The 30,000-sq-ft facility houses distinctive programs that help all students achieve their full potential—student athletes as well as the general student population. As OSU President Edward J. Ray said at the building’s groundbreaking, “When it comes to student success, nobody is privileged and nobody is excluded. If you enroll here, our expectation is that you will succeed.”
The Student Success Center was made possible by generous donors to The Campaign for OSU, the university’s first campus-wide fundraising initiative, and matching bonds from the State of Oregon.
The $14 million, three-story facility is home to academic support programs, counseling services, learning laboratories, and proactive services to help students transition from high school to college-level learning.
The facility includes classrooms, a computer lab, study lounge, and commons area as well as counseling offices, meeting rooms, and tutorial spaces. In addition, OSU’s existing September Scholars program and BEST Program are located in the center.
