One of the largest and most diverse colleges at OSU, the College of Liberal Arts includes the fine and performing arts, humanities, and social sciences. By helping OSU students of every field develop communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, the college prepares graduates not just for a profession but for a lifetime of achievement.

Campaign gifts will help the College of Liberal Arts hire and nurture the best faculty for years to come, while also increasing scholarship aid for talented and deserving students.

Highlights

Of the 300-plus undergraduate core courses, 70 percent are taught in the College of Liberal Arts.

The college supports the Corvallis-OSU Symphony, University Theatre, OSU Marching Band, Visiting Writers Series, numerous performing arts groups, and several art galleries.

OSU authors are consistently recognized by the Oregon Book Awards. Tracy Daugherty, English department chair, has won the Oregon Book Award three times.

Economics faculty members Rolf Fare and Shawna Grosskopf both appear on an international list of researchers -- numbering less than one-half of one percent of all published researchers -- with the greatest impact on their field, as measured by citations of their work.
