Student Worker / Events

  


Position Summary

The student worker will provide general administrative and events support to the Donor Relations group and Special Events team in planning, implementing and supporting Foundation sponsored events.  This is an opportunity for students to learn new skills, gain experience and enhance the OSU Student experience.

Major Duties

    • Provide planning and on-site event support to members of the Special Events team.
    • Manage guest lists for events, preparing event materials and other tasks as needed.
    • Provide guest services when needed at events, including Valley Endzone Skybox.
    • Interact with donors at events, when appropriate, to further their knowledge of the OSU Student experience.
    • Help track RSVP’s for all special events.
    • Create and maintain Scholarship applications spreadsheet.
    • Complete data entry or mailing preparation for donor relations functions.
    • Provide support for the Donor Relations group.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
     

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to work as a team member, effectively interact with co-workers, vendors, volunteers and donors using a collaborative work style.
    • Must possess an exceptional eye for detail and excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to multi-task with multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to work with a large data base and to perform mail merge functions.
    • Proficiency with computer software including MS Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher and Outlook. 
    • Ability to effectively communicate by phone.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent customer support skills.
    • Ability to work with confidential and private data and information in an appropriate manner.
     

Hours/Pay & Minimum Requirements

    • Up to 20 hours per week; must be available to work summer months (June-July-August)
    • $10 - $12 / hour
    • Must be able to work some evening and weekend hours.
    • Must possess a valid Oregon Driver’s License.
